Firefighters responded to the Cranston Highway Department's garage early Thursday morning for reports of a plow truck on fire.
Cranston fire officials said the plow truck had been used Wednesday night and was parked in the garage on Phenix Avenue when the fire started.
"Upon arrival we found an electrical fire to one truck," said Assistant Fire Chief Bernard Patenaude. "It was contained, the fire was contained to one vehicle, no damage to the building, no injuries."
According to fire officials, the batteries and battery wires in the truck were melted.
The plow was put out of commission for the rest of the night and Thursday morning.
