Mark A. St. Pierre, a veteran of the fire service and former longtime chief of the Harrisville Fire Department, will be honored by the department at its annual banquet in March.
St. Pierre separated from the position last year, but remains as the department’s chief emeritus. He was succeeded by Michael E. Gingell, the Harrisville Fire Department’s longtime deputy chief.
Proclamations from the state and town will be presented to St. Pierre at the banquet, which will be held March 23 at the Crystal Lake Country Club.
“Mark’s dedication to the town of Burrillville is unmatched,” said Gingell. “During his tenure as chief he always pushed education and safety. He really set the standard for other departments.”
A lifelong resident of Burrillville, St. Pierre has served the town in many volunteer capacities.
