Cullen Chapron didn’t know what was happening at first, but as soon as he did he sprang into action. Chapron was driving with his mother on Stony Lane the night of Dec. 17 when she pulled over at the scene of what appeared to be an accident. She asked him to dial 911, which he did, but as soon as he saw an overturned vehicle his adrenaline kicked in. “[I] ran across the street trying to stop cars as I come by,” Chapron said during an exclusive interview with The Independent. “I looked at the accident, saw that the back passenger door was open. So I attempted to open through that, but that slammed shut with a branch blocking the way. So instead I went through the back window, saw her, grabbed her from underneath the arms and pulled her out.”
