The Glocester Police Department provided an update Thursday morning on the Chepachet fire chief, who was critically injured in a motorcycle crash. "Chief Robert Dauphinais continues to be assessed and treated for a traumatic brain injury in the Surgical & Neurosciences Intensive Care Unit at the Boston Medical Center as a result of the motorcycle accident on July 7th. He is receiving exceptional care from his medical team," a statement from the police said. The statement said the chief's wife, Ericka Dauphinais, was by his side and is recovering from less serious injuries. She was a passenger on the motorcycle. "The family extends their deepest appreciation for the outreach and support from friends, co-workers, the community and his brothers and sisters in the fire service and surrounding public safety agencies," the statement said.
