Neighbors, town firefighters, local businesses and the North Providence Department of Public Works will get together this Saturday, June 22, to clean up the Marieville area. The cleanup will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a meeting spot of 940 Charles St. The event is organized by the Marieville Neighborhood Partnership. Everyone is invited to gather to pick up trash, spread mulch, pull weeds, and beautify the area. Mayor Charles Lombardi has pledged the assistance of the DPW. The North Providence Environmental Commission will provide supplies. After the cleanup, the North Providence Fire Department will be grilling hot dogs and hamburgers to feed participants and local family fun center Fab-You-US will provide entertainment. Other local businesses, such as Arigna Irish Pub, have donated food and supplies. “We’d like to thank everyone who’s pitched in to make this event a success,” said Councilor Ken Amoriggi, the president of the Marieville Neighborhood Partnership. “Marieville is a special place, and we can make it even better, but only if we work together.”
