Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt and Public Safety Officials invite City residents to commemorate the 18th year anniversary of the deplorable attacks, the horrific loss of lives and the incredible acts of heroism that occurred on September 11, 2001. The observance will take place at the Woonsocket Fire Department Headquarters, 5 Cumberland Hill Road at 8:30 a.m. On 9/11, a total of 2,996 men, women and children were killed in those attacks including many Public Safety First Responders who selflessly sacrificed their own lives to save others. “We continue to mourn the tragic loss of lives of those innocent victims of 9/11 and to praise and admire the numerous heroes who on that day bravely risked their own lives to help others,” said Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt.
