For many children, fire trucks are an ageless attraction.
On Sunday, Sept. 22, fire vehicles of all sizes and shapes will be on display at New England Tech’s East Greenwich campus as part of the Rhode Island Antique Fire Apparatus Society’s 15th annual show.
“Our event is geared towards family fun and history,” said Richard Quetta, a North Providence resident and member of the society. “This is our 15th annual show, and if the weather holds up we could have a record crowd.”
A record crowd would be special for a number of reasons, most notably because the unique nonprofit is hoping to get a head start on its Christmas shopping.
“While admission is always free to our show, we’re hoping that people bring a new, unwrapped toy, which our organization is collecting and will be distributed to needy children during the holidays,” Quetta said.
