A 25-year-old Massachusetts man has died following an early Sunday crash on Interstate 95. Rhode Island State Police said Aaron Lee, of Randolph, Massachusetts, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering serious injuries in the crash, which occurred around 2:45 a.m. on I-95 South in the area of Baker Pines Road. State troopers, firefighters with the Richmond-Carolina and Hope Valley fire departments and ambulance personnel all responded. According to state police, a preliminary investigation determined that Lee was driving south when he went off the right side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and caromed back across all lanes before colliding with a Jersey barrier in the center median. It was unclear whether Lee was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. State police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
