When the public comment period ended at Tuesday night’s Town Council meeting, and nobody was given the opportunity to speak regarding the Fire Department’s ongoing staffing issue, one attendee made her voice heard. “Are you serious? This is what we voted you all in for? Our whole town’s in danger!” she could be heard saying on the town’s live stream of the meeting. ”... Everyone show up at the polls and we can vote every single one of them out.” Town Administrator Shawn Brown was standing at the lectern, preparing to address the council on the recently completed community survey results as the large number of firefighter supporters made their way to the exit. “I hope your house doesn’t burn down,” the woman said to the council as she exited. But in the foyer, she continued to speak before Town Council President Robert Sylvia requested the door to the council chamber be closed. The woman addressed the council again, to which Sylvia replied, “We heard from you — outside.”
