The Rhode Island Department of Health announced that it has confirmed nine additional coronavirus-related deaths since Friday, and said that 122 people have tested positive for COVID-19 over the last four days.
The state had not updated its coronavirus data since Friday due to the holiday weekend. The total toll from coronavirus in Rhode Island is now 969 deaths and 17,154 known cases. There were 55 patients with coronavirus in Rhode Island hospitals on Sunday, the most recent date for which data were available, down from 61 reported at the end of last week. Four were in intensive care, and four were on ventilators.
In addition to the 122 positive results, 9,500 tests came back negative over the last four days, for a 1.3% positive rate.
