A Newport-based sleep technology company recently announced its plan to donate thousands of N95 masks to local agencies in need.
BedJet’s donation is valued at over $16,000, according to a March 25 press release from the company.
“Our company has quite a sophisticated international supply chain capability,” BedJet CEO and Newport resident Mark Aramli said in a prepared statement. “Hearing about our local health care workers in jeopardy due to protective mask shortages and the inability of government sources to keep up, we put our own rapid supply chain capability to work on their behalf. N95 Masks are now being flown into Rhode Island sourced from manufacturers around the world and will be distributed over the next few days and throughout next week. Not a single N95 mask has been sourced from a domestic manufacturer, we are adding to the sum USA inventory of this critical and lifesaving protective gear.”
