Missing Connecticut woman's body found in river by Westerly Fire Department

The body of a woman who had been missing since Tuesday was found on the Stonington side of the Pawcatuck River. Police say the body belonged to Evelina Gaccione. Police issued a silver for 76-year-old Gaccione Wednesday and began searching for her with the local fire department using a drone and a boat in the water. A Connecticut State Police K9 was also called in to help search, police said. The search was called off Wednesday night. Gaccione is said to lives a few minutes walk by the river. It is unclear where she fell and was found one mile downstream by Westerly Fire Department. The Office of the State Medical examiner is determining the cause of death.
