A North Providence home was heavily damaged by a fast-moving fire Monday afternoon, North Providence Fire Chief John Silva said.
The Hampshire Street home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on scene, according to Silva.
He said no one was home at the time, though two dogs and a cat were rescued.
The house has been deemed a total loss, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The American Red Cross said two adults were displaced due to the fire.
