A firefighter is in the hospital after battling a fire to an auto body shop in East Providence Saturday afternoon. Police responded to Pawtucket Avenue around 2:30 p.m. for a report of a fire. Crews said a firefighter was taken to an area hospital for injuries unknown at this time. Battalion Chief Frederick MacDonald said the building is not a total loss. It is unclear if anyone was in the building at the time of the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
