The Tiverton Fire Department is mourning the loss of retired Capt. Joe Policica.
The department said in a Facebook post that Plocica died unexpectedly, but was surrounded by family and friends.
“This is a difficult time for Capt. Plocica’s family as well as the fire department,” the post read.
Funeral arrangements are still being finalized, but the department said that it will share the plans once they’re set.
“Thank you to everyone who has reached out offering condolences,” the post concluded.
