Obituary: Thomas J. Doyle, Retired Providence Deputy Assistant Chief

83, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, September 18, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was the adored husband of Clare (Tamboe) Doyle for 57 years. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late John H. Doyle Jr. and Margaret E. (Rodgers) Doyle. He was a resident of West Warwick and Bartlett, New Hampshire. Tom graduated from LaSalle Academy in 1956 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1960 and joined the Providence Fire Department. He retired in 1989 as Deputy Assistant Chief having served fourteen years as Providence Fire Marshal. Upon passage of the Vietnam Era G.I. Bill, Tom enrolled at Providence College earning degrees in Business Administration and Fire Science.
