VIDEO: An investigation is underway after a two-alarm fire broke out at a vacant home in Providence Thursday morning. Crews responding to the home on Althea Street around 6:15 a.m. found heavy fire coming from the second and third floors. Deputy Assistant Chief Robert Butler said the roughly 60 firefighters on scene were able to get the fire under control in an hour. The neighboring home was evacuated as a precaution just in case the fire spread, Butler added. Crews dealt with a water issue with one of the hydrant lines breaking, but Butler said they recovered quickly from it. No injuries were reported.
