As the City of Greer continues to grow, city leaders continue to do all they can to protect and serve its citizens effectively.
On Monday, the city of Greer Fire Department did a push-in ceremony to pass the torch to one of its brand-new fire engines. The new engine will be replacing one that is been protecting the people of Greer for more than 20 years. However, for many people there, it is more than a new fire engine but a commitment to grow with its people.
The new engine was one of several moves city leaders have made to help its growing city.
"This is a perfect example because you think about growth, you think about infrastructure and some of the other things. It also comes with more parks, more police cars, more fire trucks, more employees, all those sorts of things so it's an ongoing process for a growing city," Mayor Richard Danner said.
