Nashville Fire Station #2 will temporarily close starting this weekend

The Nashville Fire Department will temporarily close Fire Station #2 on 500 Second Ave. North beginning on Friday. According to the department, the closure is for "building and mechanical issues" No date was given on when the station could reopen, but the fire department says they're "working with Metro General Services and Mayor John Cooper’s office to build a new state of the art Fire Station #2." Fire crews working at that station will be relocated to three other stations: Station #9 on Second Ave. South, Station #5 on 8th Avenue South, and Station #11 on Dr. D.B. Todd Jr. Blvd. According to Nashville Fire, these temporary locations will allow the personnel from Fire Station #2 to continue to serve the downtown core territory.
