A Cross Plains home is a total loss after an early morning fire Thursday.
The call came in around 3:30 am that the home, located at 8597 Hwy 25 East about a mile from Interstate 65, was engulfed in flames. According to Fire Chief Tommy Jackson with the Cross Plains Fire Department, the fire is being labeled suspicious.
Jackson told Smokey Barn News that the home was a rental property and was not occupied. No injuries were reported.
The Cross Plains Fire Department, the Robertson County Emergency Management Agency, the Orlinda Fire Department, White House city fire department, the White House Comunity Volunteer Fire Department, Robertson County EMS all responded to the call. Sumner County also provided assistance.
