Two people are recovering after their recreational vehicle (RV) caught fire Saturday afternoon. The Chattanooga Fire Department says it happened a little before 1 p.m. at 3000 East 34th Street at East Lake Park. Battalion Chief Lesley Morgan said two people were asleep in the RV when fire broke out. They got out of the RV, but they appeared to be suffering from smoke inhalation and were transported by Hamilton County EMS to a local hospital. CFD spokesman Bruce Garner says the firefighters quickly put out the fire, but the damage to the RV was extensive. Chief Morgan said the victims' injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
