A fire Monday afternoon in the 3000 block of Calhoun Avenue threatened two children alone in the home, according to the Chattanooga Fire Department. CFD believes that the fire started in a bedroom and when firefighters pulled up, flames were coming out of the back left corner of the house. A quick attack by firefighters had the fire out in ten minutes. The two children were home at the time and they were able to get out of the burning home with no injuries. One child ran to a nearby business to get help and those at the business called 911 to report the fire.
