No injuries in Apison house fire

Crews worked to put out a fire at an Apison Pike house Saturday morning after heavy smoke was reported. According to the Hamilton County OEM, a homeowner called 911 reporting a heavy smoke smell in their home. At 8:35 am, the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to 10996 Apison Pike and reported heavy smoke coming from the home. After confirming everyone was out of the house, firefighters conducted an interior attack and found a fire in the attic. Officials reported heavy smoke and fire damage to the interior of this house. The cost of damages is undetermined at this time. No injuries were reported, but EMS was on standby for any potential injuries to firefighters.
