An investigation is underway in Hendersonville after a woman lost her life amid a Wednesday afternoon fire. The Hendersonville Fire Department said crews responded to a house fire in the 200 block of Harbor Drive at approximately 2:09 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, adding that dispatch later informed them one person was still in the home. Fire Chief Scotty Bush told News 2 that a man and a woman were inside at the time of the fire, but the man made it out alright. However, when first responders arrived at the house — which had a large amount of flames and smoke — they searched inside, found the woman, and could not resuscitate her, fire officials said. According to the department, units stayed at the scene until 6 p.m. while they completed extensive salvage and overhaul efforts.
