VIDEO: Eric Bardall, 62, died after fire crews rescued him from his burning house, according to the South Davis Metro Fire. The cause of his death and of the house fire are still under investigation. At the time of the fire, all the utilities to the home were out of service and the hydrant outside the home didn't have any water. South Davis Metro Fire reported that there were numerous smaller propane tanks in the house which vented and added to the rapid fire growth. The home was a total loss with an estimated $225,000 in damage. The home, in the area of 1375 South 1100 West in Woods Cross, caught fire at about 9 p.m. on Monday, fire officials said. The fire was out as of 10 p.m., and investigators were working to figure out where and how it may have started.
