VIDEO: The fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris Monday was a stark reminder of how vulnerable Utah's sacred structures are when it comes to the elements. Images from the fire Monday evoked memories of the tragic 2010 Provo Tabernacle fire. Fire crews said there are special plans in place for potential incendiary situations at Utah's religious structures like the Cathedral of the Madeleine and the Salt Lake Temple - because of the way they were constructed more than a century ago. "Historical buildings such as the Cathedral of the Madeleine use what we call heavy timber construction," said Salt Lake City Fire Capt. Tony Stowe.
