Authorities are investigating a series of suspicious, hoax calls after first responders swarmed two Utah residences overnight.
Using an untraceable phone, the caller reported someone had been shot and set of fire, according to Murray City police.
Officers, a SWAT team and firefighters responded to a condominium at Liberty Oaks Cove and a home in South Jordan at approximately 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. When they arrived, they didn't find anything of the sort.
At the Murray location, they spoke with an elderly woman and her mother. Police say both women are new to the area and were confused as to why law enforcement were at their residence.
Police have labeled the incident as a "suspicious circumstance" and are currently looking for the caller.
If the caller is identified and found, they could face a misdemeanor charge of emergency reporting abuse.
