Crews are making some progress on the Radio Hill Fire as it continues to produce large plumes of smoke visible through the northern part of the state. The blaze is believed to have stared from a lightning strike northeast of Bothwell, late Sunday night just before midnight. Box Elder County spokesman Mitch Zundel said as of Tuesday night, the fire is 62% contained and has burned around 2,306 acres. The fire has not grown in size during the past day but crews are continuing to watch the winds that are still in the forecast during the next few days. There are more than 70 firefighters attacking the fire on the ground, creating containment lines. They have been helped by two helicopters and an air-taker that have dropped water and retardant on hotspots.
