A Utah family is recovering from injuries after the deck at their Spring City home collapsed on Sunday. The family of 11 was gathered on the balcony to watch the sunset on Father's Day when the structure collapsed. Clark Christensen, the sheriff and fire chief in Spring City, says it was "quite a drop, almost 20 feet." One family member managed to get off the porch, one had gone to work and another had gone to the bathroom before the porch collapsed. Several agencies responded to the home at 9:30 p.m. to assist the Burningham family and provide medical care. A few of the family members volunteer with the Spring City fire department and finished an EMT class, so they were able to help the others. Seven people were transported to the emergency room with fair to serious injuries, including: soft tissue injuries, a fractured back, broken leg, broken foot and broken facial bones.
