Alora Calista Rivera has been arrested for suspected arson, according to court documents made available by Salt Lake County jail. On Wednesday evening located at 1309 West 800 South, Rivera started a fire in her home after an argument with her father – who was located in the basement when flames broke out on the staircase. The condition of the father is unknown at this time. The probable cause documents received by 2News state the staircase leading to the basement were the only way to exit the home in case of an emergency and Rivera had working knowledge that her father was located in the basement at the time of the fire. The suspect was seen fleeing from the family home shortly after and was promptly arrested.
