Firefighters dispatched to water main break in Salt Lake City after crews smell natural gas

Salt Lake City Fire is responding after emergency crews working on a broken water main smelled natural gas. Salt Lake City Public utilities tweeted about the incident around 7:44 a.m., stating there is a water main break at 170 East and 1st Avenue. Emergency crews on site smelled natural gas, so Salt Lake City Fire crews have been dispatched. “Repair crews will begin work as soon as all is determined safe,” the tweet states. Fox 13 News will update this story as more details emerge.
