PHOTO: One person died in a crash Wednesday morning on U.S. Highway 40 in Duchesne County, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 7:25 a.m. near Myton in eastern Duchesne County, the Utah Highway Patrol said in a tweet.
A Honda Civic was westbound in the highway, and a semitruck that was hauling a tanker and pup tanker was heading east in the same area, UHP said in a news release.
The Honda swerved into the path of the semitruck and crashed into it head-on, UHP said.
The Honda went off the north side of the road, and the driver suffered fatal injuries, according to UHP. He was wearing a seat belt, but the seat belt broke and the man was ejected from the car, UHP said. He was not identified.
The semitruck also went off the north side of the road, but the driver was not injured, according to UHP.
