PHOTO: An emergency closure of a portion of the Green River in Daggett County was ordered as firefighters attempt to get control of the 6,500-acre Richard Mountain Fire. The fire is currently zero percent contained, according to the Bureau of Land Management. The closure includes areas from the Little Hole boat ramp to the Indian Crossing boat ramp, the BLM explained in a news release on Wednesday. It is temporary, but "necessary to for public safety and resource protection," BLM states. Emergency closure signs were posted at main entry points to the recreation area and nearby trailheads. The Richard Mountain Fire sparked at 2 p.m. on Monday in Wyoming and has since spread west into Utah.
