VIDEO: A home in Morgan County was destroyed by flames overnight. Fire officials say the blaze sparked just before 11 p.m. Wednesday in the town of Peterson. The flames could be seen from Interstate 84. Officials say the roof and garage were completely engulfed when they arrived. When crews went to hook up their hoses, they had to dig the fire hydrant out from under a pile of snow. This hindered their response time. The buried hydrants have been an issue in the past, and officials are asking everyone to get out and shovel as soon as possible any time it snows. Four people and their dog were displaced. The home is a total loss, but exact cost of the damage is unknown. Fire crews believe the stove or the heater likely sparked the blaze.
