A wildfire being fought near Highway 89 in Kanab has already burned close to 3,000 acres, according to state fire officials. The Pine Hollow Fire had burned 100 acres as of 8:23 p.m. Wednesday, and is now estimated at 2,771 acres. It started in Arizona, about 25 miles east of Kanab and about 1 mile south of the Utah-Arizona state line. State fire officials say it was caused by lightning.
