The Neffs Fire, which started burning Tuesday on Mount Olympus, grew two acres on Thursday, Forest Service officials said.
The 55-acre blaze remained 0% contained on Thursday afternoon.
Fire investigators determined Thursday that lighting sparked the blaze.
Officials met Thursday morning to discuss potential pre-evacuations as a precaution in the area as dry and windy weather conditions risked increasing fire danger.
The fire forced several closures in the area including the Neffs Canyon Trail, including all trails and trailheads as well as any National Forest System land between Millcreek Canyon Road and Big Cottonwood Canyon Road.
More than 130 personnel were assigned to the fire as of Thursday, as well as a hotshot crew, five engines, four helicopters, and four aircrafts.
Fire crews continued constructing a fire line on Thursday in areas safe for firefighters to be, officials said.
