Fire officials say two people were injured in a Monday afternoon house fire in Henrico County.
At about 12:45 p.m., firefighters responded to the 2400 block of Williams Street in the county’s Lakeside area for the report of a house on fire.
Firefighters arrived to find smoke pouring from every side of the home, where two adults had already escaped.
One of the residents, a man in his late fifties, suffered minor burns to the face and minor smoke inhalation while trying to use a fire extinguisher to fight the fire. The other occupant, a female in her 70s, also had hair singed while escaping the fire. They were not taken to the hospital.
The Henrico Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
The Red Cross is helping the two displaced occupants.
