A family in Albemarle County made it out safe after their home caught on fire Sunday afternoon. According to Albemarle County Fire and Rescue, crews responded to the fire on Murrays Lane near Monacan Trail. Fire crews said there was smoke showing from the front of the structure, where they determined that the fire was coming from the attic. They were able to extinguish the fire and save many of the family's belongings. There were no reported injuries from the incident. The home is no longer habitable and the family is receiving assistance from the Red Cross. The fire is still being investigated by the Albemarle County Fire Marshal's Office.
