Crews from Warren County stations and Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residential house fire with multiple people trapped at 80 Smelser Lane in the Browntown area at 7:09 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find a detached, two-car garage engulfed in flames, the department release states. Responders saw flames spreading to an adjoining, single-family home and shed. Heat from the fire blocked the people inside from escaping through the normal entrance. Furniture blocked other exits, the release states. Firefighters rescued the occupants from the home within minutes and began to work on extinguishing the blaze. A person in the garage at the time of the fire suffered injuries when he escaped through an open window. Firefighters brought the fire under control within 38 minutes.
