A Suffolk fire station will be closed for about three weeks starting next week for work on the engine bay doors, according to a city press release. Suffolk Fire & Rescue Station 4, located at 837 Lake Kilby Road, will be closed for work on the engine bay doors starting June 3. Staff and equipment will be temporarily reassigned to Station 6, 300 Kings Fork Road, while repairs are taking place, the press release stated. Due to the nature and extent of the required work and the dependence on weather conditions, the closure and reassignment is expected to take approximately three weeks. Signage will be placed on the doors at Station 4 to alert the public to call 911 in case of emergency, and to call Station 6 at 514-4550 for non-emergencies.
