A stretch of Pembroke Avenue was closed in both directions Friday morning after police say a car crashed into a fire truck. Hampton police tweeted that the crash happened in the 300 block of West Pembroke Avenue right next to Hampton Fire & Rescue Station 1. Officers were called to that location just before 10:30 a.m. According to police, a fire truck was backing into the station while its lights were activated. A driver coming down the road didn't stop and crashed right into the truck. One man was sent to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. No other details have been released at this time.
