Bedford County crews were out early Thursday morning responding to a reported fire at a Forest apartment building. Fire officials say units from the Bedford Fire Department and the Forest Fire Department were dispatched shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 22 to to 1062 Madison View Drive in Forest for a report of fire showing on the rear of an apartment building. When crews arrived at the scene, they quickly found visible flames on the second and third story balconies of the building. However, first responders quickly knocked down the fire and held it to the exterior balconies. The firefighters then worked together to rack a 1,000-foot long hose before returning to service. There are no reports of injuries resulting from this fire.
