Fairfax County rescue personnel helped free a woman Tuesday who was trapped under her own car in a Reston parking lot, according to a police department spokesman.
FCPD officers responded around 11:58 p.m. to the 1700 block of Reston Parkway for the report of a crash. They found a woman trapped under her car in the parking lot.
Fire and rescue personnel responded to the scene and succeeded in extricating the woman. She was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
After a preliminary investigation, detectives believe the woman had failed to fully engage the shifter into park. When she exited the car, it rolled backward, knocked her to the ground, and she became trapped.
