One dog was killed but another was saved when a truck caught fire outside an Olympia building on Sunday evening.
Olympia firefighters were called to a burning truck near Martin Way. As they arrived, they were told there was a dog trapped inside, and a Good Samaritan was there attempting the rescue.
Unfortunately, one dog didn't survive. The second dog escaped but was injured. He was found running across Martin Way and was captured by Animal Control.
Firefighters learned the truck's owner lost all of his belongings in the fire, in addition to his dog. Firefighters paid for the man to stay the night at a nearby hotel.
