Firefighters turned back the clock for a game of schoolyard dodgeball last week. Clallam County Fire District 3’s A-shift rolled out the fire trucks for the special training on Nov. 29 inside Station 34 on Fifth Avenue. Fire Chief Ben Andrews said the “exercise provides the opportunity for firefighters to get in a great cardio workout, work hard with their protective equipment and breathing apparatus, and have some fun as a team.” Exerting yourself while breathing compressed air is something that has to be practiced in order to develop the ability to manage your air consumption during a firefight,” Andrews said.
