Arson is to blame for two early morning fires set with two blocks of each other in Seattle’s Fremont neighborhood, and at least one business owner has video proof. The largest fire was reported at 3:46 a.m. Monday in the alley behind the Red Star Taco Bar and the Habitude Salon and Spa in the 500 block of North 36th Street. Arriving crews called in a second alarm when they saw the fire potentially spreading to other businesses. At 4:12 a.m., another fire was reported outside of the Ounce of Prevention in the 400 block of North 36th Street. The first fire did an estimated $190,000 worth of damage. The second one did an estimated $10,000 damage. A surveillance camera on the back of Red Star Taco Bar caught the arsonist in the act of using materials from an unlocked recycle dumpster and what appears to be an accelerant to start the fire.
