People are now starting to take down their inflatable Santas, Christmas lights, and other holiday decorations and are starting to say hello to the new year. Yakima City Manager Cliff Moore says he's heard horror stories of people falling and urges you to make sure you to pick a day were it's not icy out and arrange to have someone helping you so that you aren't at risk of getting hurt. "We've had people get injured and end up in the hospital from falling off a ladder this time of year taking down holiday decorations, and that's not a good way to end the year," said Moore. Chief Mark Emery over at East Valley Fire says people falling is one of the main emergencies they respond to. At least to four times a week during this time of year, fire crews receive calls of people who have fallen off of ladders or have tripped on icy roofs.
