In the span of less than six hours, Longview Fire responded to three structure fires Friday night and early Saturday morning. One of those fires is being investigated by Longview Police due to its suspicious nature. According to Battalion Chief Blake Tomlinson, the largest fire was also the latest. Longview Police responded to a fire complaint in the 300 block of 21st Avenue at around 2 a.m. after a medium-sized RV caught fire in the home’s backyard. By the time firefighters arrived in the Highlands at 3:20 a.m., the RV was engulfed by flames, and the fire had reached the home, Tomlinson said. After taking 40 minutes to completely extinguish the fire, about a third of the home was destroyed.
