Firefighters with Pierce County Fire District #21 believe some big cuts will need to be made if voters don't approve Proposition 1, a maintenance and operations levy next month.
Fire District 21, which covers Graham, Frederickson, and Kapowsin, has seen tremendous population growth in recent years firefighters told KOMO News Tuesday.
Proposition 1 is not a new tax, firefighters said. It’s a replacement levy for the one voters passed in 2014.
A group of firefighters with Fire District #21 went door-to-door Tuesday to ask voters to participate in the Feb. 13 election.
"Hi! I’m Derek! I’m one of your local firefighters," one firefighter said when a homeowner answered the door.
