A school bus filled with children was involved in a collision near Lee Elementary School in East Wenatchee on Monday afternoon. The crash occurred at around 3:30 p.m. when a Buick sedan driven by a 76-year-old female from Wenatchee drove eastward through the intersection of 15th St. NE and Baker Ave., hitting the northbound bus, driven by Bobby Goldsby. There were approximately 40 children on the bus at the time of the incident and eight of them, all under the age of 10, were transported to Central Washington Hospital for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries. Several other kids were also reported to have received minor injuries but were not transported. The children who weren’t transported were taken to the gymnasium of nearby Lee Elementary School to await retrieval by their parents or guardians. The two occupants of the Buick were both uninjured.
